Greg Ortiz: The 91ÁÔÆæ is significantly expanding higher education offerings by creating innovative partnerships with community colleges that will allow students to earn their degree closer to home. Jay Neal, chief operating officer of UH at Katy and UH at Sugar Land, says the programs are the next step in making a 4 year degree from UH more accessible to the region.

Jay Neal: It’s phenomenal. In my mind these are both game changers for the communities.

Greg Ortiz: In Katy, the and are partnering to create the . The program will allow students to complete their core requirements at HCC and finish their engineering degree at UH at Katy.

Jay Neal: That’s gonna just produce an exceptional engineer for the greater region.

Greg Ortiz: And for the first time ever, classes will be offered at UH at Sugar Land, allowing students to complete the first three years of a bachelors in Business Administration there, with the final year at UH.

Jay Neal: We’re responding to the business community’s needs. We could offer all kinds of different degrees, but if there’s not jobs—good jobs—at the end of the road we’re not setting our students up for success.
