Research
The Department of Biology and Biochemistry is home to 42 tenured or tenure-track faculty who are actively involved in both teaching and research. Faculty and students conduct research across three primary divisions: Biochemistry, Cell and Molecular Biology, and Ecology and Evolution. This research is supported by more than $8 million yearly in grants held by faculty from federal and other sources outside the University.
