A total of 119 Doctor of Pharmacy degrees were conferred to 119 graduating students in the Class of 2023.

Nearly 150 Students Receive Professional, Graduate Degrees at Class of 2023 Commencement

May 18 — Concluding the 2022-2023 academic year, the UH College of Pharmacy celebrated nearly 150 graduates at the commencement ceremony May 11 at Cullen Performance Hall.

Among the 143 graduates were 119 who received the Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree, 16 who received the Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree and eight who received the Master of Science (M.S.) degree.

Earning the title of "Banner Bearer," students Leslie Echeverria, Priya Patel and Tien Pham graduated with a perfect 4.0 grade point average (GPA).

Twenty students graduated with the highest honors, Summa Cum Laude (3.9-4.0 GPA), 26 students graduated Magna Cum Laude (3.7-3.89 GPA), and 24 graduated Cum Laude (3.5-3.69 GPA).

The graduating class also included 23 members of the Rho Chi Honor Society and 16 members of the Phi Lambda Sigma (PLS) Pharmacy Leadership Society.

This year's Student Response was given by Pharm.D. graduating student and former PLS President Jeanette Lahoud.

The college also recognized the Pharmacy Class of 1973 as Golden Cougars, marking 50 years since their graduation.
