Major/Concentration Area coursework

Students complete 36 major hours as either:
- Option One: Two 18-hour Concentration Areas, or
- Option Two: Three 12-hour Concentration Areas.
Concentration Areas will be selected from the approved list (see course prefixes associated with each Concentration Area)
- Arts, Architecture and Design.
- Business and Consumer Sciences
- Education
- Engineering and Technology
- Liberal Arts
- Science, Health Sciences, and Math
- Social Sciences
Students must earn a 2.0 minimum cumulative GPA in the concentration area courses.
At least 50% (18 credit hours) of the Concentration Area courses must be advanced.
Students may petition to use a completed minor in place of a Concentration Area. In this case, students must complete all requirements for the chosen Minor, including required GPA. If a minor is used in this way, the remaining Concentration Area(s) must include coursework sufficient to meet the 36 major hours and advanced coursework requirements.
