For the sixth semester in a row, the UH Campus Store and Special Events department joined forces to host the Fall Graduation Celebration — and it was a day to remember!
On November 20, the first floor of the Campus Store transformed into a festive hub for graduating Coogs. Students picked up their caps and gowns, grabbed commencement tickets, decorated their caps at a creative station, and collected spirit cords, all while soaking in the excitement of their upcoming milestone.

The vibe? Pure celebration. A DJ kept the beats flowing, and a buffet of breakfast tacos, pastries, coffee, and juice fueled the fun. Graduates even had the chance to win door prizes like Campus Store gift cards and diploma frames by answering UH trivia questions.

Senior Brittany Sandoval, an English major, came for extra tickets and enjoyed the festive atmosphere:
“I think it’s great that they’re celebrating us with events throughout the process because it can be stressful to graduate,” said Sandoval.
For Tonja Jones, executive director of Special Events, the celebration is more than just a party:
“Commencement is one of the most important things a university does. We’re committed to making this a tradition through Grad Celebration and Ring Ceremony,” said Jones. “The best thing a university can do is graduate its students and make them great alums.”
