Canvas Third-Party Tool Integration Request Guidelines

Some third-party vendors offer integrations with Canvas that allow users to connect to a cloud service from within a Canvas course. The following will guide you in requesting an integration.

• Only faculty requests are accepted.
  • Vendors cannot request an integration.
• Must be for more than one class/instructor
  • Exceptions are made for very large classes.
• Because a vendor is listed in the Canvas app list, does not make it automatically approved.
• Vendors must be (Required by Texas State Law).

UH IT Security approval of all integrations is required.

The process can take up to 6 weeks.

Complete and submit the following forms to canvasadmin@uh.edu

  • Download and send to: canvas@uh.edu
  • Retain a copy for your records

Security and Contract Review

• Security review is performed by UHIT Information Security
• Contract review is performed by Office of the General Counsel
