More than 30 years of industry experience, including serving as catering sales manager and convention services manager for the Westin Galleria & Westin Oaks Hotel in Houston and business travel sales manager for the Omni Ambassador East in Chicago; prior to joining the faculty in 2005, taught in the culinary department at The Art Institute of Houston and for The Art Institute Online's culinary and hotel and restaurant program; served as executive director of Gourmet Night from 2005 to 2017; serves as faculty advisor for the National Association of Catering and Events (NACE) 91ÁÔÆæ Student Chapter, which has become the largest student chapter in the nation under her leadership; won the 2018 National NACE Member of the Year Award for her work with the UH chapter, Houston Chapter, and others around the nation; earned the Donald Greenaway Award for Teaching Excellence for the 2008-2009 academic year; received the Distinguished Young Alumna Award from the Hilton College Alumni Association in 2006 and the Distinguished Faculty Award in 2017.
