Black and Native American women are two to three times more likely to die from pregnancy-related
complication than white women. More than 80 percent of these deaths are potentially
preventable. 2022-23 Albert Schweitzer fellows Breanna Chachere, Zikora Stephens,
and Taylor Jackson launched their fellowship project MatCHrescence.
